Global AI demand continues to expand, and South Korea's semiconductor exports have surged. Since this year, exports have been quite impressive, with an increase of 12.7% in September, four consecutive reds were written, and a record of the highest in a single month.
According to reports from foreign media such as the Korean Federation, according to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, announced on October 1 that exports in September 2025 reached US$65.95 billion, a 12.7% increase from the same period last year, and is growing in April. In addition to being far superior to the 7.2% expected by Reuters survey, the largest increase in 14 months, and the export value hit a new monthly high of the year.
The import amount in September was US$56.4 billion, down 8.2% from the same period last year. After the imports offset, the trade difference was US$5.64 billion.
South Korea's exports in September were recorded again, mainly led by semiconductor leaders. The export volume in September increased by 22% year-on-year, reaching US$16.6 billion, and continued to hit a single-month high in the second month.
Ship exports also showed strong performance, with exports rising 21.9% in September to US$2.89 billion, growing in July; automobile exports rose 16.8% to US$6.4 billion, a new high in the same month.
Regarding export countries' observations, South Korea's export value to the United States dropped slightly by 1.4% in September, falling to US$10.27 billion, mainly affected by the Trump administration's comprehensive tax hiring.
In September, exports to China rebounded slightly by 0.5% to US$11.68 billion, stopping in the middle of the four.
