The Sun reported that Nicky Barth, a member of Manchester United's 92 class, faces paying thousands of pounds of compensation due to a traffic accident.

The 50-year-old former Manchester United star is being sued by motorcyclist Adam Fielding. In October 2022, Bart collided with Fielding's Honda motorcycle while driving out at an intersection in Burnley.

He had admitted to dangerous driving causing serious injuries last year and was sentenced by a Blackburn Magistrates Judge to be barred from traveling for one year.

Now, Bart faces another civil lawsuit. Fielding, 29, had previously told him that he had suffered continuous pain for nearly two years. He was hospitalized for two weeks with a fracture of his left leg and needed surgical implantation of steel nails.

This accident caused him to lose his physically demanding job, his social life was affected, and his girlfriend became his caregiver, which changed the relationship between the two.

Fielding, who worked at Screwfix, is represented by Minster Law, a personal injury claim company, and it is not clear how much compensation Bart might have to pay. Bart has apologized and said he is recalling the accident every day.

The High Court documents seen by the Sun show that the two sides have differences on the facts of the case. Accident victims usually have three years to file civil lawsuits, so Fielding is filed a few weeks before the deadline.

The judge must make several decisions before hearing whether Bart is responsible for paying the compensation. If Bart loses, his insurance company is expected to pay compensation to Fielding, which is common in car accident lawsuits.
