South Korean star Son Heung-min said he "can't wait" to return to Tottenham and formally bid farewell to the fans. The South Korean forward hopes to step into the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium again and thank the fans who have supported him throughout his Premier League career.

This summer, Los Angeles FC brought Son Heung-min from North London to California for a transfer fee of 20 million pounds (about 27 million U.S. dollars). Since joining Tottenham from Hamburg and Bayer Leverkusen in 2015, and lifting the Europa League trophy as Tottenham captain in 2025, Son Heung-min has always been full of passion and dedication.

Son Heung-min played 445 times in Tottenham and scored 173 goals. He has not only become the darling of Tottenham fans, but also a symbol of loyalty. However, his final game for Spurs came in a pre-season friendly against Newcastle United in Seoul.

Son Heung-min has always regretted not being able to officially say goodbye to Tottenham at home. Now, he is scheduled to return to north London as Tottenham fans prepare for what could be the most emotional day in the club's recent history.

In an interview with the media, Son Heung-min expressed his desire to reunite with Tottenham fans with his usual humility. "I think it's time to say goodbye because the transfer was going on and the last game was in South Korea. I will definitely go back to London and see all the Tottenham fans. I think I should say goodbye in front of them and they deserve to see me say goodbye in person. It will be a very emotional day, but I really can't wait to go back to London and see all the Tottenham fans."

Since crossing the Atlantic to join Los Angeles FC, Son Heung-min has quickly adapted to his new life. In just 10 league games, he has scored 9 goals and provided 3 assists. His influence extends far beyond the pitch, with LAFC seeing a 594% surge in social media engagement and a staggering 34 billion views globally. Merchandise sales have also increased significantly, with Son Heung-min’s jersey sales in the United States even surpassing global superstars such as Messi.

Although Son Heung-min is currently fully committed to Los Angeles FC, European football may not be over with him yet. According to the "Sun" report, due to the possible "Beckham Clause" in the contract, Son Heung-min may be loaned back to a European team during the MLS offseason. Former Manchester United and Real Madrid star David Beckham joined AC Milan twice during his time at LA Galaxy.

There are reports that AC Milan is already interested in Son Heung-min. However, Milan are not the only team interested. Speculation is mounting that Spurs could explore a reunion with Son Heung-min, giving him the chance to pull on the white jersey again, even if it's just for a few months. In addition, Bayern and Barcelona are also rumored to be interested in him.

Son Heung-min’s long-term goal is to participate in the 2026 World Cup. In order to maintain his condition, he may return to European competition before the World Cup.

Son Heung-min's contract with Los Angeles FC will last until 2027, with an option to extend to the 2029 season. Currently, he is focused on helping Los Angeles FC regain the MLS Cup. They last won the championship in 2022, when another Tottenham legend Bell led the team to victory.

Sun Heung-min will play again on October 29, facing Austin in the first game of the first round of the playoffs.
