Liverpool coach Slott was interviewed by TNT and talked about his career.

Interviewer: First of all, thank you very much for taking the time to join us this morning. Thank you very much. Know how busy you are. If I can, I want to take you back to my childhood. You come from a famous football country. Have you been exposed to football naturally under the influence of your family since you were a child?

Arne Slott: Yes, yes. Start with me learning to walk. I think I was playing ball even when I couldn’t walk. I think at that time, if you were a boy from the country (I was from the country), the only sport you could do was football. My family, my father, has been playing football. So, it is quite logical that I can play football too. I didn't play that well, but I was enough to be a professional player. But for me, it's certain that my brothers and I will play football.

Interviewer: Well, this is an interesting question. I want to ask you, how would coach Arne Slott evaluate Slott in his player era?

Arne Slott: This is a question I am often asked. My father always answered this way: He will never send him on the field. Because in my father's opinion, I didn't do enough without the ball. He may be right. I won't say I did nothing, but I'm not fast. I often joke that some people say I am slow. If you are slow, you always tend to stay two or three yards away from your opponent you need to steal. My dad doesn't like seeing players like this, he likes to see players who actively grab, try to intercept balls, and make slippers, but that's not me. I'm very calm when I have the ball because I'm slow. Then you need to have some other qualities to become a professional player. I think that passing with the right speed and direction was probably my main quality at the time, which allowed me to have a career in football, which was not the highest level, but also a good career.

Interviewer: Yes, I think most fathers will feel that they are not as aggressive as they were back then. My father must be like this. Now, you mention your player career. What about coaching jobs? When did you decide to work as a coach?

Arne Slott: That was when I was very young. My dad is a coach at the amateur level. So, I always see him leading the team on Tuesday and Thursday nights, and he will write down the training content, and I always look at him and see what he is doing. So I became interested in this when I was very young. When he and my mother were on vacation, I took over those training at the age of 17 or 18, facing adult players. This happens several times a year. So I've always been interested in it. Throughout my career as a player from 16 to 35, I have always been interested in the work my coaches do. So I wrote down something, and although I never used it again, or never used it at all, I think for me, I always knew very well that I wanted to get into management, and all my teammates who played with me would tell you now: that was tailor-made for you. 100% sure he will enter the management.
