According to the British media The Sun, Manchester United stand administrator Steven Brindley passed away after fighting a brain tumor at the age of 65. Brindley has served as a Manchester United staff member for 25 years.
After the diagnosis in October 2023, Brindley was regrettably told that his life was less than one year. But he "sustained to fight bravely" and eventually passed away at the age of 65.
Blindley was still in the staff position at Manchester United until last season. He received multiple treatments but suffered a stroke that caused his half-body paralysis. After two years of brave struggle, Steven unfortunately passed away last Thursday.
Blindley received a handwritten letter from Ferguson, thanking him for his dedication as a staff member.
family friend Nicky McCann told the Manchester Evening News: "He is a very charming person. He is the cornerstone of society. He talks to everyone, and is well-known through Manchester United's work and as a native Joelton."
"He is passionate about Manchester United and has never missed any home and away games in his 25 years as a staff member. His son James and daughter Michelle are also working there."
"Everyone knows him. He is a representative of the community. He always appears at the game and runs around, and is always an integral part of the atmosphere. You can always see him having a drink at the railway bar after the game."
Steven's family is raising funeral expenses through fundraising channels.
Nicky McCann added: "The family is very simple and hardworking. They now need to handle all the preparations for the funeral. Any amount of donation is meaningful, every message, every forwarding and every goodwill is meaningful."
"All the funds raised will be used to hold a farewell ceremony that matches his identity. A funeral filled with love, laughter and Red Devil elements will truly reflect the joy and passion he brings to all of us."
