The midfielder played for the Austrian team Graz Storm in the 2024-25 season, and helped the team win the Austrian top league championship and won the league's best young player award. David Will, technical director of Brighton, said: "Malik has had an excellent season in Austria, not only winning the league title, but also winning individual awards. Now he has a great opportunity to prove himself in the English Championship. We will continue to pay attention to his performance throughout the season."
19-year-old Yarkuye joined from Gothenburg in July 2024 and signed a five-year contract.
