According to the Daily Telegraph, members of the Lewis family are expected to watch the game against West Ham United on site, in order to publicly show the beginning of the post-Levi era of Tottenham.
Frank had a discussion with the Lewis family after announcing Levi's resignation last week. The Lewis family, a major shareholder of Tottenham, will now control the club.
Frank said: "I have spoken to some members of the Lewis family and the new non-executive chairman Peter Charlington. Our conversation was very motivated and constructive, and I felt their support."
With the beginning of the post-Levi era, the Daily Telegraph analyzed some of the issues that the Lewis family needs to solve to help Tottenham achieve sustained success.
Paystop
Levi has always been very strict in managing the payroll of Tottenham players. Many people think this is too strict, because one of the biggest indicators of success for top Premier League teams is the size of the payroll. Tottenham is estimated to rank 6th in the Premier League, down from other big5s. In 2024, Tottenham's salary-to-income ratio fell to 42%, the lowest among the 20 highest-paid clubs in the world.
It is understood that the Lewis family hopes to pay attention to the way and direction of funds in the future, and obviously needs to increase the spending on the payroll so that Tottenham can be more competitive in transfer competition with opponents such as Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United.
Fabio Paratic
Frank admitted that Levi's departure left a vacant to the head of Tottenham's transfer. During the summer window, Frank, Levi, CEO Vennay Venkatsam and technical director John Lange had "good cooperation".
Fabio Paratic has been a signing adviser for Tottenham since resigning and being banned. The ban expired in July and is widely expected to return to Tottenham as a full-time member. However, Levi's departure raises questions about this prospect.
However, the Daily Telegraph learned that the Lewis family will discuss Paratic's role in the club in the coming weeks, and the Italian hopes to continue to stay at Tottenham as a full-time or consultant.
Funding
The Daily Telegraph revealed last week that Levi's departure will be accompanied by more than £100 million in new capital injections. Sources close to the Lewis family insist that the new capital injection will not involve debt and will provide the club with “appropriate” support for ongoing success.
Tottenham spent more than £150 million in the transfer window this summer, ranking fourth in the Premier League in the past five years. If Tottenham is going to compete for an important championship, then the Lewis family will need to invest more money in the team.
local players
Tottenham again paid the price for lack of local players and was forced to reduce the UEFA Champions League A-list lineup and exclude Terl and Bisuma.
Equally important, historical data show that at least two local players from the Premier League champion team often appear in the matchday lineup.
Although Liverpool may break this trend after Arnold leaves, it is clear that Tottenham needs to develop more of their own local players to improve their chances of success at home and Europe.
Frank said: "We should definitely have a youth training camp that can develop local stars in the future, and that has to be done. Anyway, I believe the Lewis family will do a good job, I have talked to them a little bit, but building a first-class youth training camp is of course the goal."
Selling players (and signings)
For Tottenham, selling players is as important as bringing players, as Liverpool and Chelsea have shown this summer. Levi is often accused of being too inclined to sell players at high prices, causing the head coach to fall into trouble or eventually have to accept low-priced deals.
Bisuma is the latest example. Despite being left out of the Champions League roster and being left out of the European Super Cup roster for discipline reasons, he seems to have to stay at the club until January at least.
When asked about Bisuma's future, Frank said: "I would be surprised that someone is leaving now, so yes, he is part of the team."
