BBC reports that Arsenal still hopes to sign Yorke.

BBC Sports reported last week that Arsenal sporting director Berta had met face-to-face with the Swedish international in Portugal. Sources told BBC Sports that Arsenal negotiations are still in progress and the Gunners are still looking to reach a deal, with their latest offer for the 27-year-old totaling about €70 million, including additional terms.

Last month, Portugal sports chairman Valandas said there was no so-called "gentleman agreement" to release people at 70 million euros, but added that the club will not stick to its full termination clause of 100 million euros.

Yorcres, who scored 54 goals in 52 games last season, is facing disciplinary sanctions from Portugal Sports for not returning to the team to participate in pre-season training. So far, he has not publicly explained the reasons for his absence from pre-season training.
